　　　ロックダウンや、営業自粛は、経済破綻を引き起こす。
　　（ self-restraint → 自粛　cause → 引き起こす　collaps → 破綻、崩壊）

To put it simply,/ it's understandable/ that employment, civic life,/
　　　平たく言うと、雇用、市民生活、教育が、破壊され、
　　（to put it simply → 簡単に言えば、understandable → 理解できる　employment → 雇用、）

and education are destroyed/ and cause enormous damage/ to our society.
　　　社会に甚大な損害を与える事は、承知の通りである。
　　（ destroy → 破壊する　enormous → 甚大な、巨大な）

9. Lockdown and refrain from going out/ can certainly delay/
　　　ロックダウンや、外出自粛は、確かに感染拡大を、一時的に遅らせる事が、出来る。
　　（ refrain from doing → ～するのを控える　certainly → 確かに　delay → 遅らせる）

the spread of infection temporarily.
　　（ spread → 拡大、広がり、　infection → 感染　temporarily → 一時的に）

However,/ it's not a fundamental solution,/ because if we quit
　　　しかしながら、それは、根本的な解決策にはならない。　と言うのは、
　　（ fundamental → 基本的な、基礎的な　solution → 解決　quit → 辞める）

self-restraint,/ the expansion will occur again.
　　　もし、自粛を辞めたら、感染拡大が、再発するのである。
　　（ expansion → 拡大、広がり、　occur → 起こる）
